The Villa: The remote controlled double electric gates glide open to allow access to our luxurious Sicilian Villa, which was completed in 2011. Standing in approximately three acres of scattered 500-year-old olive, almond, fig and pomegranate trees the location could not be more idyllic. The house is built at the top of a small hill, offering panoramic views across the valley to the village of Marineo. The four bedrooms, kitchen, lounge and dining room are all fitted with air conditioning units capable of cooling and heating; while for the cooler winter months, gas central heating has been installed. The main entrance opens into the upper corridor where the burglar alarm controls are located. To the right of the corridor is the large, modern and spacious kitchen with breakfast bar for that early morning coffee. The kitchen has all modern appliances including a large American-style fridge freezer, with filtered water and an ice machine, a gas hob with electric hot plate/griddle, electric oven, dishwasher, kettle and finally, a fresh coffee machine. Cutlery, plates, utensils and so forth are of course provided. At the far end of the upper corridor, on the ground floor, is the cloakroom and study come fifth bedroom. The eight seat dining table is off to the left of the main corridor, while the centrally located stairs, lead down to the sleeping area.  The comfortable lounge, with two sumptuous leather settees, contains a 50 inch plasma screen TV, complete with DVD player and surround-sound system. The TV has both Italian satellite and digital signals. The lounge has folding doors to open out onto the picturesque wraparound veranda with stunning views across the valley and beyond. The kitchen is also accessible from the wraparound veranda. Downstairs there are two master bedrooms both with en-suites. Each bedroom was designed so that the double queen sized beds may look out through patio doors and benefit from the beautiful views of the valley and future spa and swimming pool. There are two further large bedrooms, each fitted with twin beds, though additional bedding is provided should one choose to push the beds together to make a double bed. Please note that all linen is indeed provided. There is a family bathroom and a laundry room within the house, which contains a washing machine, iron and ironing board. Through this room one may find the lower ground floor side access where there is another cloakroom and shower. All the windows have alarmed external shutters to keep the rooms cool during the long hot days, with mosquito netting to help prevent the little pests from entering. Externally there is a separate building, housing the outdoor kitchen, which includes a BBQ and pizza oven. A roller shutter can be raised so that if dining below the veranda in the midday sun the chef can still be part of the party.  The external lighting is time clock controlled with additional detectors that will turn on the lights should they see any movement and off after a pre-set time. Where we are: We are only 3km from the small town of Bolognetta and 24km from Palermo and within easy reach of Corleone (32km). The main Palermo - Agrigento highway is 3km away, thus putting us in a perfect position to take day trips to Agrigento and the valley of the Temples, Palermo, Cefalù, Mount Etna, Selinunte and many other wonderful places of tourist interest.
